Let a Roman citizen accompany you on an exciting and informative journey back to the everyday life of the Carnuntum inhabitants! A stroll through Carnuntum’s treasure house will give insights into almost 400 years of the Roman way of life. The current exhibition focuses on the everyday life of the Romans in Carnuntum.
Impressive exhibits from the Museum’s collection show different aspects such as “Luxury and Pleasure”, “Building and Living”, as well as “Emperors and Cults”. You will be amazed at the high standard of living in ancient times, and will be amused by anecdotes which seem only too modern.
The Museum Carnuntinum was built in the style of a Roman country villa and has a unique flair with its generously proportioned garden and covered portico. Following your visit to the Museum you can enjoy excellent wine from the renowned wine-growing region of Carnuntum.
